Dwayne Johnson showed off part of his taut rear on Instagram this Friday in a picture of himself lying down on a massage table.

His bottoms were pulled down to expose just one buttock so that he could get electro-acupuncture on his behind and lower back.

The 48-year-old movie star, who has also been a football player and one of the top professional wrestlers ever, listed the injuries he has sustained over his career.

'Fun pain': Dwayne Johnson showed off part of his taut rear on Instagram this Friday in a picture of himself lying down on a massage table

'Even though I look like a wounded, passed out drunk buffalo laying face down in prairies - can’t tell ya how grateful I am for these quiet healing/recovery moments,' he gushed, before telling his followers where his 'fun pain' came from.

He rattled off: '4 knee surgeries Torn quadricep off my pelvis Torn adductor off my pelvis Triple hernia surgery Ruptured Achilles’ tendon Completely shoulder reconstruction 3 low back disc herniations 2 low back disc ruptures.'

'The Rock' told his 220 million followers: 'It’s the daily reminder that we only have one body and we gotta take care of it...'

A few acupuncture needles could be seen on the affected areas, some with attached wires to provide the electric current for the treatment he was using.

Dwayne was a football player through college and then became a pro linebacker for the Calgary Stampeders - from which he was cut after just two months.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2014 he revealed that after his football career was quashed: 'I didn't want to do a thing.'

He revealed: 'I didn't want to go anywhere. I was crying constantly. Eventually you reach a point where you are all cried out.'

However Dwayne successfully reinvented himself as a professional wrestler, winning his first WWF championship in 1999 and becoming a star as 'The Rock.'

By 2000 he had begun to shift gears into acting, causing a certain portion of wrestling fans to turn on him in the last years of his fighting career.
