Before Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they were forlorn lovers and enemies in Game of Thrones. Though they only spent a handful of time together in the show’s final seasons, the entire series had been building up to the two seeing each other. With Game of Thrones all wrapped up, all eyes are set on the duo potentially sharing the screen in a Marvel project.
It seems like half the cast of Game of Thrones has moved over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) will appear alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Secret Invasion on Disney+, and both Richard Madden (Robb Stark) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow) are appearing in Eternals, Marvel’s big new tentpole film opening this weekend.
Marvel likes to get a lot of use out of its characters, so it’s not impossible that Harington and Clarke could cross paths again onscreen, this time as everyman Dane Whitman and whoever Clarke is playing in Secret Invasion; we don’t have information on her role yet.
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he and Emilia Clarke were ready to potentially meet up in a Marvel film, Kit Harington revealed that he wasn’t ready, but that he would be open to it.
And if Harington and Clarke do already know about a meetup between their Marvel characters, they’re not about to say, because apparently Marvel is even more strict about spoilers than HBO was. “I’m terrified of Marvel,” Harington laughed.
Will Kit Harington ever show his son Game of Thrones?
Elsewhere, on E! News’ Daily Pop, Harington mulled what he would eventually tell his son, who’s now nine months old, about his work on Game of Thrones. “Look, I mean, you can just be thankful that it happened because otherwise you wouldn’t be here,” he joked. “So that will be it. I’ll be like, ‘You don’t like watching it? Well, tough luck.'”
